They moved Daniel to ICU around 5:00. He's pretty ecstatic, on the phone with friends, and telling them all how happy he is. He's on "a lot of morphine", and he's doing really well. The nurses were able to get him some food, and Maggie had brought Peanut Butter and Bread, so we supplemented things with a peanut butter sandwich. Oh yes, he also ate some chocolate! Wonderful foresite by Maggie to bring Peanut Butter, Bread, and Chocolate!
The first immediate change he's seeing is that his left hand is working far better than before surgery. There's still a little tingling in a couple fingers, but his thumb is working. As he put it, he can open his slider phone with his left hand, something he couldn't do before surgery. This is great, as he needs that play guitar.
Will probably update again tomorrow, unless something comes up before we head home.
